On the face of it,
mill-made paper is a little more affordable than Handmade Paper.
But there is a far greater long-term cost involved - the
manufacture a single ton of mill-made paper consumes 270 trees
or 400 bamboo plants - a staggering cost to the ecology and
planet earth itself. It is estimated that world over, 2.4 acres
of forest (a size equivalent to two football fields) is
destroyed every second. That is 149 acres per minute, and 2,
14,000 acres per day - an area larger than New York City. In an
year, this figure would work out to 78 million acres - an area
larger than entire Poland. Approximately 137 species of life
forms also are driven to extinction each day, by this alarming
deforestation - that is 50,000 species wiped out in a single
year!.

If planet
earth has not already turned into a desert, which is because
our Nature is so bountiful and resilient, that it bounces
back. But this is a losing equation - we are destroying far
more than we restore. Handmade Paper is a perfect option to
forest-destroying Mill-made Paper. It is 100% tree-free and
chemicals-free. It is made from the recycled pulp of cotton
fabric rags. It is dried using solar energy. The paper
itself is recyclable. Thus, when you opt for Handmade Paper
instead of Mill-made paper made from virgin wood pulp, you
directly help to reduce the destruction of forestland,
conserve the landfill space, and decrease energy
consumption. It is estimated that every tonne of Handmade
Paper saves 3,000 gallons of water, 2,050 kilowatt-hours of
energy and 30 pounds of air pollution -- figures astounding
enough to convince the worst cynics. We wish to create
aesthetic and utilitarian products out of reused materials.
We would like to be friends with the earth, while doing
business with you.
